ALSTONE AND TEDDINGTON CHAPELRIES COMMITTEE

St Nicholas's, Teddington, and St Margaret's, Alstone, are joined with St Faith's Overbury, the Church of St John the Baptist, Beckford, and St Barbara's, Ashton-under-Hill, to form an ecclesiastical parish within the deanery of Pershore and the diocese of Worcester.

The churches came together in 1985, although St Nicholas's and St Margaret's have been chapels-of-ease to the mother church of St Faith I Overbury since Anglo Saxon times and the names of all of the priests who have served the congregations since the 11th century are recorded. The vicar is assisted by Captain Dennis Oxley of the Church Army who is based in Teddington and is supported by licensed readers as well as members of the parish.

The Chapelries are a combined congregation and day to day management of St Nicholas's and St Margaret's has been delegated by the Parochial Church Council to a Chapelries Committee. The Committee, which is elected by members of both congregations at an annual church meeting, is responsible for maintaining the fabric of the buildings, ordering forms of worship and raising funds to further the work of the churches and for charity. Services of Morning Praise and Evensong are regularly held.

Support from local residents to assist with everything from reading, churchyard tidy-up, flower arranging, church cleaning, etc is always very welcome either on a regular or one off basis. Please contact the relevant churchwarden for details.

Full information about church activities, spiritual and temporal, are contained in the parish magazine, published monthly. Copies may be obtained by contacting the secretary.

A warm welcome is extended to all who would like to share in our worship and join in our social activities, details of which can be found in the church magazine
